Separate the door mechanisms

Glass and solid sectional doors use jointed panels running through tracks into an overhead position. A roller door winds a slatted curtain around a shaft. Their operators, attachments and clearances are not interchangeable.

Balance before motor selection

The door must be correctly installed and balanced for its mechanism. A stronger operator is not a substitute for correcting spring balance, track alignment or a binding curtain. Spring and drive work requires a qualified installer.

Give the supplier a complete compatibility brief

Provide door width, height, estimated or measured weight, headroom, side clearance and backroom. State the sectional lift arrangement or roller shaft/box dimensions, control needs and site voltage/frequency.

Verify the exact model

For LiftMaster or any other brand, compare the model-specific installation manual and regional supply specification. Confirm travel, mounting geometry, balance system, safety sensors, obstacle behavior and manual release. Brand, remote frequency or connector shape alone does not prove suitability.
