Buyer’s guide

What Information Is Required for a Window Quote?

A complete opening schedule saves revisions and allows more accurate system comparisons.

Give the quote a clear destination and opening list

A useful quote starts with a clear destination and a repeatable list of openings. If some details are not decided, mark them as pending so assumptions can be stated explicitly.

Six RFQ input groups: project location, opening schedule, operation, glass and safety, finish and hardware, and drawings and delivery.

What to include in the request

Opening-by-opening information

Provide an opening ID, location or room, quantity, width, height, units, product type, operation and handing convention. Identify whether dimensions are rough openings or requested frame sizes.

Finish, glass and hardware

State the finish, glass build-up or performance target, safety-glass requirements, lock and handle preferences, screens and accessories. Note which items are fixed and which need options.

Drawings and delivery

Attach elevations or schedules with a drawing number and revision. Include project city, final delivery destination, access and unloading constraints, requested delivery terms and packaging expectations.

Common questions

Quote questions before you send

Can I request a quote with only approximate sizes?

Yes, for an early budget discussion if approximate dimensions are clearly marked. Confirmed production sizing needs reviewed drawings and a final schedule.

Should I specify the glass by brand only?

Include the required build-up and performance goals as well as any requested brand. Confirm the exact available unit and compatibility with the selected system.

How do I share the brief?

Use the request form and attach the current schedule or drawings. The team can identify missing fields before preparing a product-specific quote.
